Payment and Refund Policy
Last updated: 02 November 2026
Scope of This Policy
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of courses, training modules, access subscriptions, and related professional development services offered through headlinejo. These services focus on live television production techniques including studio equipment integration, dynamic camera techniques, acoustic optimisation, lighting setups, and reliable production processes for news programmes, interviews, and live shows. The policy covers both individual course enrolments and recurring access plans purchased by customers located in the United Kingdom.
Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges
All prices displayed on the website are in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include Value Added Tax (VAT) at the prevailing UK rate unless otherwise stated. Additional charges may apply for optional extras such as printed course materials or live workshop attendance. Any such extras are clearly indicated before checkout. Prices are subject to change, but the price confirmed at the time of purchase remains fixed for that transaction.
Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security
We accept major credit and debit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers for course purchases. Payment is authorised at the point of order placement. All transactions are processed through secure third-party payment gateways that comply with UK financial regulations and PCI DSS standards. headlinejo does not store full card details on its systems.
Order Confirmation and Contract Formation
Upon successful payment an order confirmation email is sent to the address provided. The contract between you and headlinejo is formed when we issue this confirmation. Access credentials or course materials are then made available through your account dashboard. You should retain the confirmation email for your records.
Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel most distance contracts within 14 days of the contract being concluded. For digital content and online courses this period begins on the date of purchase. However, if you start accessing the course content during this period you may lose the right to cancel once the content has been substantially consumed.
Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items
Refunds are available where cancellation occurs within the statutory period and before substantial access to course materials has taken place. Refunds are not provided for completed courses, partially viewed modules, or services already delivered. Promotional or discounted bundles may have specific refund restrictions stated at purchase. Non-refundable items include any physical materials already dispatched and any live session recordings already accessed.
Step-by-Step Procedure to Request a Refund
To request a refund please contact us in writing via the contact form on our Contacts page or by emailing [email protected]. Your request must include your full name, order number, date of purchase, and a clear statement of the reason for cancellation. We aim to acknowledge receipt of refund requests within two working days.
Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification of Refund Decisions
Each refund request is reviewed against the eligibility criteria set out above. You will receive written notification of our decision within ten working days of receipt of a complete request. If approved the refund will be processed. If rejected the notification will explain the reasons and outline any options for appeal or further contact.
Refund Method, Processing Time and Receipt of Funds
Approved refunds are returned using the original payment method wherever possible. Processing typically takes five to ten working days after approval, although bank transfer refunds may take up to fourteen days to appear in your account. You will be notified by email once the refund has been issued.
Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions and Promotional Offers
Digital courses and subscription access are treated as digital content under UK law. Once you begin streaming or downloading material your cancellation rights may be affected. Subscription plans renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel future renewals at any time through your account settings, but refunds for periods already commenced are limited to the statutory cooling-off period. Promotional offers are subject to the terms advertised at the time of purchase.
Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud
In the event of a failed payment we will notify you and provide an opportunity to complete the transaction. Duplicate charges will be investigated and refunded promptly once verified. Chargeback requests are treated as cancellation requests and will be assessed under the same eligibility rules. Suspected fraudulent activity may result in immediate account suspension pending investigation, and we reserve the right to report such activity to the relevant UK authorities.
Mandatory Consumer Rights in the United Kingdom
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, or UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. These rights cannot be excluded or limited by contract. If you believe any term of this policy conflicts with your legal rights please contact us for clarification.
